To apply for a passport: where and how? 


At the embassy in Dar Es Salaam


You can only apply for a passport if you are registered in the consular population register.

Registration of biometric data is also mandatory for children above 6 years old.

You make an appointment online via this link for your passport application. During the appointment, the biometric data will be recorded (photo, fingerprints and signature).

Important note, if you are not registered in the consular population register of the embassy, you can only apply for your passport in your municipality of registration in Belgium.


Passport lost or stolen


Call DOCSTOP as soon as possible on the free number 00-800 2123 2123 or 00132 2 518 2123 (with charge).

Report the loss or theft to the local police

You can then apply for a new Belgian passport if you are registered in the consular register

OR

you can apply for a temporary passport at our embassy or the honorary consulate in Zambia or Mauritius.

You must come in person to the embassy or honorary consulate and bring the following supporting documents:

  1. Your original loss or theft report from the local police
  2. Application form for temporary passport
  3. Form for reporting loss or theft of passport
  4. Two passport photos (white uniform background, neutral facial expression, closed mouth);
  5. Payment proof - See Consular fees.
